What oil to use???
I'm thinking I'm going to change the oil myself this upcoming weekend to avoid a few hundred dollars taken out of my checking account.
What weight oil should I use? Thinking about picking up some amsoil.. Also, can I take it in after I do the oil and have them reset everything? |

Ur gonna get every answer under the sun w this one..u have to use an LL01 BMW approved oil and a visocity of either 0w30, 5w30, 0w40, 5w40..depending on ur climate.
I use Total Quartz Energy 9000 0w30, LL01 approved |

I prefer used vegetable oil from McDonalds. Make sure that it is from a McDonalds with a playground inside though, they meet higher quality standards so you know the oil is better than other McDonalds.

Sorry, I didn't take any, I'll try to next time. Just don't skimp out and get oil from Burger King either. I used it once and I blew up my motor, though it did smell tasty while my car was burning to the ground.

You have a good sense of humor, so start here and clear about 38 days to read all the oil threads on here debating back and forth.

Just go to autozone and get 7 quarts of Castrol Syntec European Blend 0-30.
Make sure it says European Blend! Check the back label to make sure u picked the right one. Should say BMW approved. |

335why, be advised that no dealership will put anything other than a specific 5W30 in your vehicle. If you are under warranty, your best bet is to change the oil at the dealership. If you want to save money, buy the oil for your 335I from the dealership, and change it yourself. Keep the dealerships receipt. DON'T experiment with different weights, until your well out of warranty. That way, you can pay for any damages.
