Another Leatherette Question
If you ordered leatherette is the steering wheel leather or leatherette. Also, for cleaning the leatherette since its just vinyl can you use the Maguires interior detailer or any cleaner/protectant made for vinyl.
Thank you |

I believe the steering wheel will be leather regardless of your interior choice, but don't quote me on that, I don't even have an E90 yet

Megs interior Quick Detailer is excellent but only has mild cleaning properties. If you never let it get filthy, it should be enough. It's all I've used for cleaning in over a year on my E90 and it stills looks great.

so can I use the Maguires interior detailing spray on the seats to protect them. Im not so much worried about cleaning as I am trying to protect the material for prolonged "new" look. Can someone confirm whether the steering wheel is leather or not?
thanks |

I will avoid using solely leather conditioner. The steering wheel will be too slippy when hold and turn. If you really want to clean and protect the steering wheel leathers, the Mothers Relfections Leather care is a one-step cleaning and conditioning, and it is very 'neutral'. Do remember to completely buff off the product with MF towel. For general cleaning purpose such as removing finger prints, grease, so long the product is oil-free, wax-free, ammonia-free; it should be fine. I would think Anti-static spray for electronics and audio equipment should be the best for cleaning non leather upholstery of the interior.
I love Showtime, Quick Detailers...but for leathers, I will only use products designed for leather cleaning and condiitoning. (animal leather is like human skin, not sure I love Shwotime for my own skin..., if you know what I mean.. ![]() t

cnlaw, looks like you are a Mothers fan! I have a lot of their products and find them to be top notch. Very under rated IMO.
The Meguairs Quick Interior Detailer we are speaking of is specifically designed for interiors. It is truely a great product. Smells real nice too. |
