How often should you wash you car?

I just bought a brand new 2011 3-Series and I was wondering how soon and how often should I wash the car? Is washing too much bad for the paint? I already got some fingerprints on my car already so I was just wondering. Any washing product or advice please feel free to let me know. Appreciate it guys.

Weekly..just use a mild soap and you should be fine..i use tide..washing w soap and water doesnt affect the paint

you guys overdo this shit.. I wash mine like once a month (IF THAT) at a carwash.. and it gets dirty on the drive home..

don't be the guy that washes his car once a week on his driveway because you know the neighbours come out to get their sunday morning paper and shake their head at you in dissaproval every time for good reason

i think that whenever the car is dirty and you are up to cleaning it then you should do it.

Truth is, washing you car frequently will help keep the car looking new trust me..wash weekly/ bi-weekly.. wax..microfiber towel wipe downs in between..ftw!

I ONR my car every week and do full washes like every month or two depending on the season and time with a full detail done twice a year once prepping for winter, the next for summer

What color is it?Dark shades= more frequent washes.Have a Garage?? That too helps. I used to be a washing fool but no more last 3 bimmers over 7 years were titanium,Space Gray and now Alpine White....Really easy to maintain.Once every 2 and a half weeks is more than enough.Don't get crazy,Bimmers look tougher when kinda dirty. Good-Luck with the auto.

Just wash it when it gets dirty. Whether its weekly or by-weekly or whatever. If its dirty wash it, if it isn't don't. As long as you don't use something abrasive or harsh chemicals you are not going to harm the paint.

once every threeweek or so. i use very soft towel to remove dust when car is still clean. be gentle though!

no no no no no. fuck the neighbors. when I had my Jet Black e90 I would wash it twice a week on my driveway. I havent seen any of my neighbors wash their cars since then. I guess they cant compete against my standards?
