Unhappy Help! TomTom 12V Adapter too tall for centre armrest

Trying to fit a TomTom 910 into my new E92 last weekend, and discovered the TomTom 12V adapter plug is actually too tall to fit into the centre armrest 12V socket. The armrest won't close with the plug fitted

Can anyone recommend a very short 12V extender plug/socket combo (or something equivalent) I could plug into the 12V socket and then plug the TomTom plug into that? Something that allowed the TomTom plug to lie horizontally under the armrest would probably be ideal.

Do you guys have Radio Shacks (or an equivalent) in Scotland? or can you order from RadioShack.com? I'm sure that they would have something that fits the bill, or something that could be modified to do the trick.

I use the OEM accessory outlet that plugs into your flashlight receptacle in your glove box. Check it out, it should be tidier.

I have the same problem with the charger for my mp3 player. Whoever designed that area with the aux jack there HAD to have known a charger would be used. STUPID Germans can engineer the ultimate driving machine but cant build a simple armrest.
