does re-flashing erase my iDrive settings?

i think all of my settings (radio presents, BT phone, display, locks, etc) are stored on my key? although map locations and probably some other things are stored on the iDrive system memory. will i lose anything when my iDrive is re-flashed.

i am getting a car alarm installed tomorrow (which requires a reflash of iDrive), and i am concerned i am going to lose my data. can someone confirm or deny my concern.

Usually no, but ask your SA. Some updates do clear out the settings.

Had my alarm put in a few weeks ago, and to answer you question, no, all your setting will remain the same.

do you have iDrive?? i just asked someone in parts and they said i will lose everything?? i hope you are right!
