Every mod you do will void the warranty on that part...

If u install springs, you'll avoid suspension related warranty...like control arms bent, torn subframe, alignment issues...

if you get a BOV, they're gonna find a way to blame you for it if your engine scres up...

etc...

if you want a BOV, run one, then remove it if you need to take it in to the dealer...takes 20 minutes to replace it back to stock...

Any BOV will be okay as long as it is well installed and not to leak boost...

boost leak will lead to more turbo lag...

Or you can simply unplug one of the diverter valve from the intercooler piping, cap off the one that goes to the intake, and during shift, air will be vented out of the valve u just unplugged instead of back into the intake...

it is fine, our cars are MAP based, the computer won't expect air to be discharged back into the intake...

Prepared to be flamed for this thread. But to get back on topic, a few of my friends had the greddy rs BOV. Seemed to leak boost so they all switched to either tial or hks. If you really like the sound of greddy, might look into Tial. If you want a really loud version of tial or greddy, take a look at AA.

In theory the Magnison-Moss warranty act stipulates that warranty coverage cannot be denied unless the manufacture can prove the part you changed/added/altered was directly responsible for whatever warranty coverage you seek. E.g.- swapping exhaust shouldn't void the warranty on your fuel pumps.

In practice, however, manufactures and dealers will fight you all the way to court to keep from paying out on warranty claims. For example; the above mentioned exhaust mod increases net HP which in turn increases stress on the rest of the drivetrain componants, namely the fuel pump which is forced to work harder to keep up with the increased demand, resulting in failure. Never mind that a 30 degree drop in temprature probably puts a far greater strain on the pump than a new exhaust, but you get the general idea.

General advice on warranty coverage for modded cars of any make is to find a mod friendly dealer and stick with them. Service departments are generally more liberal with the regulars; more so if it's the same dealership you purchased the car from. Forums such as these and local user groups/meets and owners associations are excellent sources of information in that regard.

And yes, pulling in with racing slicks and shoe polish numbers on the window from last weekends meet is a really bad idea, even if it's only for an oil change.

While this is partially true, you have to also realize that the dealer must PROVE that said aftermarket part is causing a specific issue. If the BOV is not related to an engine problem, they cannot refuse warranty service just because you have the BOV. With that said, most dealers will still not make the effort to prove that a specific part caused a problem.

On the contrary, dealer will find every which way to not cover your warranty because of after market modifications...you must been to the nicer ones, but i know for a fact, that my POS dealer, will find a way to void my warranty if i as much as change a lightbulb, let alone a BOV...

Some might care, some might not...but just to be safe, i'd remove everything before putting it in for service/repairs...

same reason u slow down when u see a cop...u might not be speeding, but the natural and smart instinct is to slow down...

I would suggest the HKS BOV before the Greddy unit. I had the Greddy Type S BOV on another car, and the HKS SSV was way better (installed after I removed the Greddy BOV).

Seriously +1!! If you have to go to the dealer just take off whatever you have on there. (I.E. BOV, Procede, Intake) If they dont see that you have it then you cant get into any trouble with warranty. Also an intake and an exhaust cannot void warranty on anything they dont do anything to the car in a negative way.

If you want a BOV, go with AA in Miami. Check a few videos on the gallery that I made, it's the nicest of all. More money but you get what you pay for it.
