non runflat questions...

Apologies if this has been covered before.

I have gone ahead and fitted vredestein ultrac sessanta's to replace Bridgestone RFT's on my 19" E92.

So far so good and the ride comfort and grip seems to be good.

1) What tyre pressure do you recommend for the tyres?
on the label on the inside of the door, it states 2.6 and 2.7 bars for the front and back respectively if the car is fully loaded. I presume you would inflate the tyres to this even if the car was not fully loaded??

2) Im trying to buy an economical space saver wheel for my E92.
The prices im getting are around £300:

Any ideas if you can buy a cheaper wheel, for example a space saver for an older E46 and make it fit?

Thanks

Its annoying that they do a spare wheel for a 5 series E60 cheaper for £207

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-BM...item1c1eb4dc1b

and it fits in the well under the boot.

It says in the link above:
If your car is a touring model you will need an extra boot trim to fit the space saver into the boot of the car under the boot floor carpet. This will cost an extra £49.70 on top of the listing price. Please contact us directly to arrange this item.

does this mean that the boot floor of an E92 can be modified to fit a space saver wheel? Is this easily done?

cheers

The price of £300 sounds expensive - I'm sure an E90 space-saver was only about £180 or £200 a year or so when I bought one directly from a BMW dealer (pics below). I know inflation has been a pig recently but 50% sounds unlikely.

5-series can be modified with OEM kit. The 3-series cars are not in any way designed for a space saver under the floor.

Some of us have had the floor well apart and looked closely to see if it is at all possible. There just isn't the dimension available, even with some major panel 'adjustments'.
