2009 LUX H8 blew my lighting system!!
I had an earlier thread complaining about BMW not able to find my headlights problem. Yes, the service centre spent 7 days and couldn't tell where the problem lies and charged me hundreds....
I thought it must be the LUX because I only started getting codes and having random on/off after installing them. So today I open up the angeleyes compartment and found out that one of my angeleyes' power plug is melted with copper wires all exposed!!! I changed the Lux h8 back to regular H8 and the random on/off (both headlights and angeleyes) improved but still there. Obviously one of the Lux was drawing too much current and overheated! That's why they added a FUSE in there in the later version! Gee. BMW told me the lighting computer is ok so what's left? From the look of it right now it must have been burnt wires somewhere else besides the H8 male plug. Does anyone have similar experience? Sellers and developer of the LUX H8 please come in and help solve the problem. My LUX H8 were bought 2009 Sept through N.A. Motorsxxxx (I think as I have checked my PP record that was the only company that I paid $260! at that time). My Lux has those one inch by one inch black plastic power supply and they are both deformed now and the one that created the problem has a BUBBLE on the housing! |

Sounds like a manufacturing defect. Talk to LuxAngelEyes (guy who makes them, he's on the board, or email him via LuxAngelEyes.com, his website) and see what he can do.

I was hoping that it will go away but of course not! Now the damage is done and BMW said they could not fix it, I will give it a shot myself! |

1. The control unit for the xenon lamp INSIDE the headlight. 2. The control unit for the whole lighting system; the Footwell Module. 3. Marginally burnt wires somewhere else inside the lighting system. |

A little update. After I have replaced the LUX with Mtech and clear all error codes with the Procede I have my lights(all of them) back on again
But the problem remains and lighting codes still come popping up so I suppose it has created problem else where and probably in the wirings. I will try to read the code with the Procede and see exactly what they say tonight. |
