CO2 Intercooler spray?

Is it smart to run meth and CO2 intercooler spray? Or all you'll get is an icy death for the motor? Been looking at the CO2 spray for a bit now, and it looks interesting.

Missed what I'm saying haha. Already have meth, want more cooling. Meth + CO2 = Icy death? Or something amazing?

the cooler the air the denser it gets ...... the result is more air in the cylider !! thats the entire reason why the intercooler was invented !!!!

Umm.... you spray it on the intercooler. Nowhere near the intake track.

Ive always wondered that as well. I know the benefit of an air to liquid intercooler kinda cancels itself out cause you need another radiator to cool the liquid. But why couldn't you make an intercooler similar to the way an air conditioner works.

So I'm guessing there's no way that the CO2 could find its way into the intake track? If thats the case then I'm gonna order the kit right now and post the results since I'm too chicken to try nitrous this is the next best thing.

Don't be nervous. I was the same way. I am spraying a dry 25 shot and it works awesome. Don't waste your money on the co2 intercooler spray.

How much power will you gain from denser air? depends on how much you spray, for how long, and how cold you ultimately can get the intercooler. Then how long can you keep it that cold?

http://www.designengineering.com/pre...er-sprayer-kit

All the info there. The kit is about $280 now, and I know refilling it is just at any paint ball place so that easy. Nitrous is a bit harder to find and a bit more expensive. That's why I like the CO2 spray, less money but less effect. I just want a little more power not trying to go crazy with nitrous.

People, you spray CO2 on the exterior of the intercooler, not into the intake. Yes, it will chill the exterior of the intercooler and help drop intake air temps.

I dunno, for 280 it wouldn't be too expensive to try.

I guess it cant hurt if no meth is used, but OP is already injecting meth and IMO it would not make much of a difference in performance...I honestly think its a waste of money, but looking forward to see what performance gains if any happens with this mod

I would be interested to see what kind of gains you see. Back when i had my turbo honda guys were getting great results with the intercooler sprayers.... until they realized that most of the gains were from the nitrous passing through the intercooler and making its way to the the intake of the turbo. Depending on whether you have a stock or Aftermarket intake i would say the chances are slim to none that you will have any significant amount of N20 make it in.

Why not just run a small shot if your going to go through the trouble of adding an N20 set-up? It will surely be more effective.

You could also just add a water/meth intercooler sprayer. Came from the factory on STI's, cannot be used at the track though...

Rallycars once had (Maybe still do?) watercooling nozzles infornt of the FMIC to lower the AIT.. Even back whan the Lancia Delta HF Integrale and Gen1 Audi Quattro´s where the beasts to beat.

Lowering AIT by using both meth injection and cooling the FMIC would probably give good results depending on th eboost and how large the FMIC is. The larger the FMIC, the less this kit will add would be my guess..

Dahlbäck Racing here in Sweden used to spray (This is maybe 10 or more years ago) their FMIC on the S2 with a large manual CO2 fireextinguisher to "freeze" it prior to running on the strip. You could try something like that and see if it does anything...

Ofcourse, the Dahlbäck Audi was pushing 650HP with no meth on racegas afaik...
