after a trip up to big bear mountains; i got into my car to leave.. and my coolant was low... odd, the car is brand new and has 4300 miles on it; I went down to the station and picked up some coolant (the one in the pic) and filled it up..and tightened the cap properly; as soon as I turned the car back on, no coolant error anymore!

I drove for about 5 miles and the service engine soon light went off, and is still going off (i let it rest for a few hours and checked again);

any ideas as to what's going on? Would it be the type of coolant I filled that is causing the service engine light?

I called BMW service and they said "fill the blue coolant"... I said the one I bought is yellow and hes like thats fine to use if ur using it for this time...

Take it to the dealership. That's why you have a warranty...

How much coolant are we talking about, are we talking about the resorvoir being dry? Or are we talking from the low to full. i've actually never checked mine in over 5 years, so it's a bit disconcerting that at 4300 the warning turns on...
