Disconnect battery when changing interior trim?

Hi,

I'm thinking of replacing the center console trim - there are a few light scratches from a previous owner. I also want to replace the start button as this has some fading of the black paint around the chrome.

I've seen there is a really good DIY here showing how to do this.

I wondered whether it is necessary or recommended to disconnect the battery for this job? I'll need to disconenct the cigarette lighter and iDrive under the center console and then the start button cable.

Any advice or tips gratefully received!

If you want to be safe, there is no harm in disconnecting the battery. But I have uninstalled multiple trims without pulling the battery.
