Will a US head unit work in the UK?

Hi guys

Currently on a plane waiting to take off, bound for the US and have just had at thought....why not buy a head unit for my golf!

Will this work i.e. Will it be compatible in the UK? Where is the best place to buy from? I am landing in JFK and then driving to Shelton but have the rest of today and Sunday to get one, as work starts on Monday.

Am assuming it will be cheaper than UK and tend to buy Alpine. Main thing is good sound and iPod connectivity- any suggestions on models?

Any advice would be much appreciated....

Thanks guys.

Garage List
I wouldn't bother, I'm fairly certain the frequencies are different.
