Boost leak test
OK, I give up!!!
Would have thought identifying a decent tuner who can assist with a simple leak down test would have been a simple Google search, wrong!! Anyone know anyone who offers a straight forward boost leak test / smoke test in the UK? Ideally North West based, but will travel if need be. I've seen a test kit on ebay but tbh I’m not really confident in a DIY option. |

H, have you done some logging with the BT cable to see that you're actually not reaching your boost target? I've messed with my chargepipe, DVs and IC pipework and never had a boost leak. A couple of 3rd gear pulls will clearly show if you're hitting the boost target.

Hi Idnan
When I was at Evolve they dyno’d the car after the map and I was maxing out as 12psi when the target was 14. He wasn’t sure if this was normal pressure drop for the ETS intercooler, however it seems that the ETS unit should only see a 0.1% pressure drop so a leak is looking likely as everything else is strong on the car. I did some logs yesterday but the boost level doesn’t read in psi, Neil at Juiced Up is looking at the file for me to convert it and give it to me in layman’s terms!! I’m pretty sure it’s a leak somewhere , how did you get on at Wood’s at the w’end? |
