HPFP on its way out!!
Whats going on guys? Need a little help here
Running into a few problems with my fuel pump lately. I've been getting some really hard and long cranks when starting my car up for the first time (usually) each day. Based on the information I've come across on the forum (thanks!) it seems that my HPFP is on its way out. My problem is that my car is actually modified. Not heavily, but modified none the less. Is there anyone on here with a connection at a bmw dealership, that would look past that? My car is originally from the states, but I bought it from a used car dealership May 2011. I dont want to go through the trouble of reinstalling my stock intake box, resonators, and taking out the JB4 tune if it isnt necessary. Any input would be much appreciated. Happy tuning!

Maranello did my pump and my car is modified... I don't see any issue?
Its a recall, they have to do it.

i'd say just to be safe, just take out the jb4. leave the intake and resonator im sure they will most likely let those slide.

Thanks for the input.
Is there anyway for me to turn my JB4 off, and not have it detectable by the dealer? Instead of removing it?

I was at BMW Mississauga for a DMTL pump issue and I was talking to a SA about the HPFP extended warranty and they acted as if it doesn't exists. I thought there was a 10 year extended warranty on that part?

Don't be a lazy ass and at least take the tune out.

Thing is I cant remove the tune myself, so I'd have to take the care somewhere and pay for it to be removed. If I have to do it its all good, but I'd rather not

I think long cranks at start up is a symptom.
