ProCede, AA, RDSport, TT Shoot Out!
Who here thinks this would be a good idea? Someone should setup the event and record it all on camera. This will also give vendors an opportunity to showcase their products and market each of their unique features... It also gives us a chance to see how well these products match up.

But it would be fun, seeing a 20+ page long topic full of analysing why one of them pulled 3ft far in run # 3/10 and the other not... |

Who gives a damn? This whole PROcede vs AA vs TT has gotten old and frankly boring.
So are all of these stupid threads about "Who would win between a 328 and a 300c". Who gives a fuck? Really? If you care that much then you really must be compensating for some short comings. A good product is a good product and they all have their advantages and disadvantages.

I personally would be interested. If someone is going to spend their money for a performance upgrade, I think it would be good to know what you are getting . That way it would allow an informed consumer to decide which product is best for his needs. BTW, there was a similar pissing contest on the Audiworld forums concerning which ECU flash was the best. They did a dyno comparison of various ECU "flashes" and the results were interesting to say the least. It was well done and informative.

i don't underdstand the pissing contest? procede has to win even the other vendors admit it is the most powerful!! so for speed procede has to win and that is all that matters not price and other crap procede is the best...end of story...i don't even own one but from the data you'd have to be a moron to think otherwise!

There's already a video of s PROcede against a TT. I doubt a PROcede against a Xede would be much different. All I'm saying is that this subject has been discussed over and over again.

A few feet either way in a drag race is irrelevant to me. What I care about:
1) Reliability. What stresses are being placed on the engine? What fine-tuning is done to avoid problems. Just amping up boost is not what I am interested in. I expect to own my car at 100k miles. 2) On the road performance. There is a lot more to going fast than the 1/4 mile. How do the different systems perform on the road, and on a course. I don't want lag -- I want usable power. Take them to the 'ring and see how they work.

Well, the only reason i started this thread was to give us (consumers) more information. Albeit, not all information is perfect, just like some drivers are better drivers than others, or some cars were built a little stronger than others.
However, I believe that any info is good becuz it better equips us, and most of us want a luxury "sports car", so if speed doesn't matter, then why even bother w/ an aftermarket piggyback? Just stick wit stock and i bet that it'll be most driveable and reliable =D Also, i think that if this test were conducted, all the cars should be AT since that would almost eliminate all driver factors (except maybe the guy who does a burnout while launching...) Conducting these sorts of test would make the diff between AA, Procede, and RDSport since they are only a couple hundred apart in pricing... If one goes a bit faster, i would be willing to dish out an xtra $200, imo |

I think if we have some sort of chart, it would be more beneficial.
The chart would include: Price, Gains, Dyno Sheets, rating of installation,where to buy, ect. |

Are you implying that the ONLY difference is the price tag? If so, how can you possibly say that for certain? Do you even know the intricacies of each unit, the map values, etc? In fact, there's probably no way they COULD be the same, given the intellectual property controls that surround the development of each one.

Do it at the drag strip. Try to get three identically spec'd step. coupes or sedans each modified with the selected product. Each should have the same tires, and should be weighed in advance to ensure there are limited differences (weights should be the same with the same spec car), any weight diffs can be dealt with by adding or subtracting gas.
Use the same driver for each run, do three runs for each product. Then remove the products and do runs stock to get a baseline for each car, to help adjust for car to car variance. Then you can argue about performance vs cost with some real numbers. |
