Bird Crap on Clear Bra Leaves Unsightly Haze - here's how I dealt with it

I recently had a Venture Shield clear bra installed on my E90. My wife left the car on the driveway for not more than 2 hours and we noticed a huge splotch of bird crap. So, trying to be careful with the clear bra, I only used ONR as a quick detailer and a plush MF cloth to remove it. Sure, it came off, but an unsightly white haze remained and contrasted effectively (unfortunately) against our Monaco Blue E90. I then tried to use Meguiar's Gold Class Car wash (diluted). No impact.

Very frustrating and I didn't want to risk using other products in case I damage the bra. So, naturally, I called picus, who advised that I try Plastx. I worked with this for about 10 minutes and most of it came off. (Thanks picus). But there was still a minor amount of haze left. Then, my clear bra installer (Marco, he's great for anyone in the GTA/Detroit area) introduced me to Plexus plastic cleaner. AMAZING. It completely removed the hazing and any minor streaking caused by the Plastx.

So, I will now be armed with Plastx and Plexus. I posted this thread because I was not able to find a solution to my clear bra issue through search. I thought others might find this useful.

Cheers.

I had a detailer recommend Plexus for use on interior tinted windows with a micro-fiber cloth - great stuff.

Plexus is soo good on your headlights and foglights too. Makes them look almost as though there is no plastic cover.

I am going to get some now after seeing your car. My looks just like your 335i minus the exhause with the blacklines and OEM spoiler. I have the MTech bumper coming and will be installed shortly.

+1. I had a tar spot on my clear bra and rubbed too hard and got that same haze. I used plastx and got most of it out and then Plexus as a finisher and its totally gone! Just remember Plastx is meant to be rubbed until it comes off not buffed on and then buffed off. It works like scratchx.

FYI, you can find Plexus at places they sell Motorcycle Accessories. When I had a bike, I used it to clean my visor all the time. It is great stuff and is also used on Lexan (scratches very easily).

+1. we also have Ventureshield with stains of bird poo. the stains look etched into the film (similar to how stains get etched into the clearcoat of paint). ill definitely try plasticX+Plexus.

Plexus is the STUFF. It was made for Flight helmets face shields originally BUT ..it is the ABSOLUTE BEST stuff for Plastics and the like.
I used it on my Paintball masks NOTHING gets plastic cleaner.
Tints, Headlight covers , etc etc. The BEST.
Paintball stores online have it ...as well as a fair number of auto places.
