JB4 question....

Does the JB4 save all the data learned as you drive to enhance driving/tune capabilities in the tuned maps?

By this I mean can I switch maps on the fly and expect the full potential upon switching or does it take some driving around for the DME to learn the switch everytime you switch?

Example: I'm driving in map 0 and while on the highway switch to map 1...will this be automatic or does DME need to relearn every map switch?

Thx

People switch maps WAY too much...just leave it on whatever map is appropriate for your mods, then just throttle use of the power with the gas pedal...it's not that hard.

No, JB4 doesn't "save" the learning. It'll take a little bit of driving to get FULL benefit of the tune while the car adjusts.

Great thanks. That's what I thought so I know what I'll be doing. Map1 on weekends and Map4 during the week
I'm on old firmware not Mar2012 yet so map4 is still the economy map right? At least that's what I saw on the website

Map 4 is stock map... Just leave it on map 5. Mileage depends on your right foot

I'm completely stock until I put my Stett CAI in, but on these cars that's not much of a power mod anyways from what I hear.

Do you really recommend map 5 over map 1 in my situation? Map 1 felt amazing, I don't wanna lose out on the tune benefits if I'm running map 5 and it's based on current temps and stuff like that.

My next mod will have to be FMIC cuz the spring/summer/fall here is pretty warm and humid too.

Leave it on Map 5 and call it a day.
ANY map is low-mileage map if you just keep your foot light on the gas...I stay in map 3 all the time and sit at 28+mpg on the highway...

Leave it on Map5, it'll auto adjust to your conditions/mods...

I don't have any mods yet tho ahah

I'm getting my Stett CAI soon, but that hardly counts. I have to be honest tho...map1 feels more responsive for the higher gears in low rpm, I dunno maybe it's just me.

Still getting use to feeling the difference with the new power. It's definitely noticeable in 2-4th gear especially in low rpm

It's probably adjusting to a lower boost than map1 then. I would go with map5 to be on the safe side do 2 or 3 third gear pulls and let it auto tune . I remember it only auto tunes in 3rd

I def agree with what everyone else is saying... Just leave it on the map you like the most and be done with it. Its going to get the same fuel economy give or take 1 or 2 mpg.. But to answer your question switching from map 0 to map 1 doesnt need to "learn" since its not a learning map. Map 5 is the ony map that actually takes data logs based on your mods, temp, ect.... but something like map 1 has fixed settings so it doesnt "auto learn". Map 2 is the same way. Map 3 is a progressive meth learning map and not suppose to be used without meth. Map 4, I have no idea what its for lol, and map 5 which is what mine is set at..it learns the cars modifications from air flow, temp, ect and is really the safe way to take full advantage of your cars potential without over working the motor/turbos, ect. Just set it to map 5 and enjoy your car. I have the STETT intake and think its an amazing intake and has huge performance gains just because its a real cold air intake since it scoops air form the bottom away from the motor.
