New BMS N55 Intake - Ready for Orders!! **50.00 off Intro Sale**
In stock and ready to SHIP!!!
http://www.n54tuning.com/index.php?_...&productId=105 Fits 2011 BMW N55 E82 135i and E90 E92 335i and 335xi N55 3.0L Engine Gain up to 10+whp along with terrific sound!! Finally an intake system worthy of your N55 TwinPower motor! The BMS N55 Performance Intake retains everything that is good about the OEM N55 intake system including the cold air ducting and light weight heat shielding airbox bottom, but completely replaces the restrictive top end of the OEM intake with new high flow ducting and a performance filter to match. Unlike some manufacturers that advertise huge gains for their N55 intake systems we're not going to tell you replacing the N55 intake will add 25hp+ because we've dyno tested them all and know they won't. But during our extensive dyno testing the BMS N55 Intake out performed all other available N55 intake systems posting gains of up to 10+ horsepower to the wheels. In addition to freeing up some power turbo spool speed is improved. Not to mention an incredible sound improvement. You'll finally be able to hear your turbo spooling! Installation is very easy taking the average enthusiast only five minutes to install or remove right in their driveway. Our proprietary high flow filter can be cleaned every 15-20k miles using an off the shelf K&N cleaning kit and will last the life of the car. • Adds up to 10+ Horsepower • Super fast install and removal • Dramatic sound improvement • Improves throttle response • Retains OEM airbox base as a heat shield • Retains OEM cold air ducting • Made in the USA to exacting OEM standards • Cleanable and reusable filter Last edited by Mike@N54Tuning.com; 07-26-2012 at 09:17 AM.. |

While I do appreciate the great price point of this CAI and the good folks at BMS and N54, I am troubled by the design. The Injen and similar products design the CAI pointing towards the grill or at least not sit on top of the engine isn't that the point of a CAI? to pull the air from the front of the vehicle, this unit sits in the original air box, why couldn't you simply take off the top of your air box, like I used to do when I was a teenager. I realize there is little benefit in terms of HP etc, but that cooler air does benefit the engine to some degree and it sounds great as well.
I guess if its just sound, then why not the BMS, but I think I will go with a design that has some extension towards the front of the vehicle. |
