SF teen in BMW arrested after fatal crash
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/articl...AGGSQH3MH5.DTL
(06-17) 21:14 PDT -- A 16-year-old San Francisco boy was arrested and charged with vehicular manslaughter after the 2007 BMW he was driving crashed head on into an oncoming car, killing its 87-year-old driver and critically injuring its passenger, according to the California Highway Patrol. Investigators said the teen was driving "in a reckless manner at a high speed rate'' Sunday afternoon along Guadalupe Canyon Parkway near Daly City when his car spun out of control and into oncoming traffic. The teen's car struck a Pontiac Grand Am driven by August Marinello of San Francisco. Marinello and a passenger in his car, identified only as a woman in her 70s, were taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where Marinello was pronounced dead. The woman, who suffered from major injuries, remains hospitalized in critical condition. The boy, whose name was not released, was treated for minor injuries and booked at San Francisco's Youth Guidance Center. |

Sad, but anyone under 18 or over 75 shouldn't be driving.

I didn't actually get to drive until I was 17.5 years old. I honestly don't think my mental capacity opperating any sort of powerful vehicle would be smart at a time before that. I'm glad I worked my way up to a 325i at 20, and now a 335i at 21.
At 18 I was just beginning to comprehend what repricussions really were about. Now it's becoming a shocking truth at how frail life really is. I very rarely ever drink, and wouldn't even consider it before driving. Wreckless endangerment of people is wrong in any regards. Just because your car is very safe for you doesn't mean the poor (not literally) person in the geo/honda are going to be as well off as you in case of an accident because of your ignorance. That is not to say drive like a grandma, but be mindful of others. Bring it to the track if you want to rip it up, I know I will.
