Is there an easy way to notice via pictures if a standard E90/E92 3-series is equipped with the premium sound system?

In the E46, the speakers had an HK label on them.

In the M3, the speakers have a different cover which is easily recognizable.

Any input would be great - thanks!

Not sure but does a non HK still have subs under the seats?

Depends what the pictures are of... in my car, you'd be able to tell by my interior pictures that I do not have tweeters, therefore, can determine I have the base sound system. Also, you'd be able to see the center channel speaker from certain views of the front of the car, rear deck speakers from certain angles of the back of the car, etc.

I think that would be the best way to check yeah. But I donno if non HK would still have those or not. Im guessing they wouldn't...

The easiest way I could find to tell is by looking at the interior of the rear doors on the sedan. If it has speakers behind the pull handle then it's got HK/Logic 7. No speakers then it doesn't.

On the coupe it's a little trickier. The dash center speaker is a good one (although not shown often in pics). Also, I could be wrong but I think on the coupe if there is a speaker in the rear side panel w/ a tweeter next to it then that's a sign. I think w/ out the tweeters in the rear side it does not have (some one w/a coupe could validate that probably).

Two speakers side by side in the rear panel of the coupe, yes... one speaker, no.

330's and a the first one or two years of the 335 had them as a default option in the US
There will be a center dash speaker and graphic equalizer controls.
The center dash speaker has grating rather than a solid piece between the two vents. The so called Premium system is actually the Hi Fi or base US system from 06 to 09 and now reinstated after the crap base system(called stereo world wide) got into the US in 2010 and early 2011. Both the Hi Fi and L7 have 8 inch subs but the Hi Fi is so under powered you almost wouldn't think they are there.

- I did not realize the Hifi system is back in the 2011 and 2012. I know the 2011 and 2012 systems were upgraded from the 2010 base systems, but thought they just added 2 tweeters (going from 6 to 8), and still was not the hifi system. When I had a 2011 as a loaner the base system (even with the tweaters) definitely did not sound as clear as my 2009 system. My 2009 hifi seems to be powered just fine, but what do I know? The base is solid and the clarity is very good. Of course this is subjective, but I have received multiple comments from people riding in my car on the clarity of the system, Including a few audiophiles.

Yes I have heard the new Hi Fi
And it didn't sound as good as the old one that I had.
But I am not sure that it was because I am jaded by my new
system . The amp in it is a silver color instead of black I don't
know if this indicates a different sub contractor or not.
At least is has the tweeters and wire harness so you can modify
pretty easily.
The trouble with the old Hi Fi is you couldn't really turn it up very much without distortion muddiness and harshness . Plus the midrange hole.
As car stereo's go its not that bad but for a 40k plus car its kind of weak. I have heard worse systems in Porsche's though.

E90 if you have speakers in the rear doors, then u have Logic7/Harmon Kardon
