New Procede Beta Maps and Throttle Calibration How To
Hi guys,
New 4-23 Aggressive beta maps are up HERE They are nearly identical to the previous Aggressive map from last week. But by request, we rescaled the Open Loop fuel table to allow of a wider range of user adjustability. As such, the default Open Loop Fuel setting is now 75%, instead of 90%. This allows you to raise Open Loop Fuel setting more if needed (i.e., fuel trims maxing out) How To Calibrate Throttle Position We've also noticed some variance in throttle position sensor calibration from car to car. Perfectly understandable given that some cars are now 7yrs old. This means that the throttle position sensor voltage at idle can be slightly different in different cars. Same goes for the TPS voltage at full throttle. The Procede, like all engine management systems, relies on this 0-5v analog signal to know what load/boost to target. And these voltage variances will mean that one car may not behave identically as the other car despite running the same map. The differences will be very minor and might not even be noticeable to most users. But the Procede user software does allow you to calibrate the maps for your particular car's TPS sensor. So it's worth doing when you have a few moments free. Here's what how you do it:1) Using the User Tuning interface (v5.34 or later), go to "Analog Inputs" and select the "Throttle" tap on the window. 2) With ignition power full ON (but engine not running), Click on "Set Throttle" 3) The software will tell what to do next. Basically, clicking the Set Throttle button with your foot off the throttle pedal (this defines 0% throttle). Followed by clicking the Set Throttle button with the throttle pedal pressed fully (this defines 100% throttle). If you have a 6at, press the pedal to the point just before the kickdown switch. You will be able to see your original settings change which will give you an idea of how mis-calibrated your settings originally were. 4) After you are done, view "Throttle" in the realtime datalog window. It should read 0% will your foot off the pedal and then transition smoothly and linearly to 100% as you go full throttle. If it doesn't do this, you did it wrong and try again That's it. With this setting probably customized for your particular car, the Procede will perform all boost and throttle blade control strategies exactly how we intended them to perform. Enjoy! I actually was wondering about this. I have seen this calibration and didn't mess with it because I am new to Procede.

For us 6AT guys, when you say fully pressed, does that mean fully pressed down with the kick down button fully clicked?

Great question! If you have a 6at, press the throttle pedal to the point just before the kickdown switch. This way the Procede recognizes full throttle without having to trigger a downshift.

Ya it seems like it will. I had the 4/17 maps loaded and did the calibration. I then uploaded the 4/23 maps and it reverted back to the old default settings. It seriously only takes 20 seconds. I'm wondering how significant my change is, I want from 79 min to 70 and 375 max to 410

It likely reverts to default settings for the maps. Similar to how you have to readjust PID, temp activation, meth flow etc. every time you upload new maps, to your old numbers (if you did this).

This is a great update. Thanks
I have a request. For NLS, can you put in a parameter that allows you to hit an RPM target before it is active? If I down shift or if I want to rev RPM higher with clutch dissengaged, I hit the NLS activation from the previous shift. |

The throttle calibration data is stored in the map. So when the map is changed, the values go back to the defaults which will work fine unless your particular throttle position sensor is out of whack for some reason or another.
