DIY vinyl wrap car project

hey so i know its been done but figured i would post my experience of vinyl wrapping now i have never done any kind of vinyl work what so ever and its all new to me....so im wrapping my whole car in a matte sky blue vinyl (off ebay the air release type) so i started today stipped most of car down besides trim and door handles

here are materials and tools i used and the vinyl i bought (50x5ft hoping its enough)

[IMG][/IMG]

so i started by cleaning and clay baring whole car then waxing for eurofest then before you start the wrap wash the area you are working on with dawn dish soap to remove wax and other finishes then make sure you wipe it real good with a lint free cloth to get all dust ext off then paint is ready...

i started the hood first so roll out your vinyl with a buddy make sure you leave enough room on the sides at least an inch or 2 to tuck under when done...so layed flat over hood after cutting and peeled half the vinyl back off and layed top center portion into position then finished peeling the back off slowly down the hood .....worked in halfs from the center left and then center to right go slow and pull up the half your working on the heat gun is your friend from here on out try to pull strait towards yourself with vinyl while the other person squeegees and heat guns just be careful not to over heat it or too close with the heat....go slow and tuck edges after and cut extra off when done...heres finished product took us about 1.5 hours to complete

will start doing roof and trunk tomorrow and will keep updating as i go along feel free to give me any tips or comments or questions you might have thanks

AMAZING, let us know how you work on the seams? Like on the side where the trim meets the door and windows.

i poked around the forums and asked distributors as to how much and the common theme seems to be 50ft x 5ft ....but we will see if that ends up being enough it looks like it should

Interesting project. But you're taking a beautiful color and wrapping it in that ugly blue? So sad.
