HID Fog Light Issues
So I bought a set of HID's from a vendor here and they've been nothing but a headache. Now i just need some advice from you guys!
I got the H8 kit for my fogs. I have the error canceler connected into the ballast and the bulbs. The fog lights turn on for 5-10seconds and then one random light will turn off. Sometimes one stays on or both turn off... there is no pattern. Suggestions on what I could do??? Help!

Its a bit of a trip but if you want to drive up to CT I could get them working for you.
Otherwise look into the DIY's on this forum there are resistors you can put in instead of the error cancelers (which in most cases are garbage) |

I have the same issue with mine, I think the ballasts are shot not since they wont turn on at all...I heard these resistors are garbage tho, is this not true?

I'll tell you guys the problem..
the problem is you probably have 2006-2008's which are a PIA with hid fog lights.. i've dealt with it many times in the past, the solution is you need TWO error cancelers on each side..after that it will work fine..there is nothing else you can do to make this work. Link to my multi-month long frustration dealing with this: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=498760 good day.

The ones I made to use in my car have been working for months without any issue, I use them daily and on a 55w kit.. Never had a problem.

OP, best of luck, it is a bit of hassle on the older models, hope the error cancellers work. |

Can you tell us where you got the kit? I have an HID kit as well and haven't had any problems (fingers crossed). Fellow AF member....

I went the BMS HID Fog's last summer and they have been great since day one. If you are having issues... I would suggest coding out all the Hot/Cold bulb checks (Interior and exterior) rather then the error canceller approach. One coding session is far cheaper and better then all the canceller in the world.
The BMS stuff usually works like a champ on my 2008 335xi, I had one issue with my AE's, but they were super fast in helping me get that resolved and SUPER AWESOME in customer service. Hands down... get BMS and be happy. |

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=877428 I've had great success with the BMS products, I'm currently in the process of installing some High Performance Bulbs products right now and I'm also very impressed with the quality and customer service of both those vendors - Faz |
