Front Lip Curb Scratch
So, I'm an idiot and pulled up too far when I first got my car and havent got around to fixing the damage yet.
European Autobody told me it would cost 1500-2000$ to fix it because they would have to take off the entire front, sand it, repaint it, and reattach. Has anyone had similar damage fixed else where? Any suggestions? Here is what the damage looks like: |

I'd try and see if you can buff most of it out - doesn't like like 2grand worth of damage...if anything you might as well get a mtech/performance/m3 rep and paint it.
I did the same thing, but because my cars so low and sparkling graphite, I barely notice it and don't really plan on fixing it. |

OP I have a contact in Oakville for probably $300 will fix that scratch no problem. They did an AMAZING job on my car when I scratched my rear bumper and I have SG paint as well.

this would be a good excuse to buy the oem aero lip as it would cover up the scuff...

$1500 - $2000 to fix?! that sounds like a HUGE scam.. considering you can get a whole new bumper and paint it for less than that. i would say get an aero lip and cover it up!

That sounds like their insurance rate, their cash rate is the same as most other body shops, I was surprised how cheap it was.
I'd just spend that 300-350 you're gonna spend on that and use it as an excuse to get an aero lip. If not, clean up the area, feel how deep into the paint it is, hit it with various types of sand paper and then compound/polish to finish it off. It should look a lot better at this point, after that use dr. colorchip to basically dye the scratches. It'll look crappy up close, but from a distance you won't be able to tell it's there. Cheap and easy route, but if your OCD like most of us on here it's something you will stare at everytime you see your car. If you're brave enough since it's so low down on the bumper just aerosol it, Andy M has a good write up for it on here.

I would get the lip. If you prefer to fix, I know a bodyshop in Markham who can do it for a reasonable price. He's had to do 2 of my 4 corners on my Porsche.

know a shop rite down the street from european auto body who will most likely fix that and you wont even be able to tell it happened for fraction of the price they are offering.
pm me if interested. |
