the top edge of my steering column is pealing and was looking for a quick fix idea some sort of sticker a a bit of carbon fibre wrap not to sure so please give me any good ideas

My sisters 328 had this problem too..crappy BMW trim

FYI - bells "peal"...trim "peels". I've had a little of that on my early '07 E92, and had some of it replaced while I was still under warranty. Outside of that, depending on the piece, you can either order a replacement from getbmwparts.com or remove the part, smooth it down, and paint or wrap it. Other brands have similar trim with similar results; it's not just BMW - Audi has a terrible reputation for trim wear.

He pointed out the fact that this is a very common problem--I'm starting to see it happening on the steering wheel button trim/window switch area too. And he also pointed out how you can fix it--either through painting (best match to OEM color, since you'll be repainting with an OEM color!) or wrapping with vinyl. If the piece is cracked/damaged/whatever, he also told you where you can go for the replacement part.

There are a lot of people here on this forum who not only know a lot about these cars, but also want to help other members of this community. But you gotta throw us a bone here, giving us a mere "?" doesn't cut it!

I wonder why it's coming off.. Is something rubbing there consistently or is it just bad paint?

Don't know mate it's the only bit on ther that is pealing the rest of it is fine. I'm trying to find some sort of discreet black sticker or something

This problem usually appears in "wear" areas, where there is frequent contact with the surface.
