Washing detialing towels good or bad?

I left some of my MF towels in the corner of the garage, now they are covered in bits of dirt and garage gunk (aka spiderweb stuff). One in particular was farily used.

Would washing them do the trick or would it not get them clean enough or leave any particles in the towel that would scratch the paint. Im planing on clay bar-ing my car with a good wax tomorrow and dont want to run to the store. There cheap enough so no big deal either way but for the hastle.

Throw them in the wash using some type of microfiber detergent. CG makes an awesome one you can get (check out DetailedImage). Should do the trick. Also, NO fabric softener. The agents in softener will leave residue on the MF towels.

If you don't feel like buying a specific MF wash, I've heard of people using Tide Free as well with similar results.

add white vinegar to the wash instead of fabric softener.

Ok thanks for the tip. I also use Griots Garage microfiber and foam pad cleaner but have only used it on the foam pads so far.

Thanks.
