Which tires for Star Spoke 225 M19" Wheels (OEM)

Hello everyone,

I have stock 19" wheels on my e92 coupe MSport 235d. I also have standard Bridgestone Potenza RF tyres (excuse the spelling i am British!)

I am looking to come off run flats (for obvious reasons) and have seen lots of advice on here to go to the Michelin Super Sports.

The problem is that i can't seem to Fine ANYWHERE! anyone who can provide them in the rear standard size i.e. 255/30/R19/91Y they can do the Pilot Sport 2 in that size but not the Super Sport!

I can find them for the front size o.e. 225/35/R19/88Y but not the rear. Now you will have to appreciate i am a newbie and not a tyre expert but i could do with some help! Can anyone confirm whether they do them in the rear size or if i am missing something altogether!?

The ONLY other option i currently have on a premium brand is the Continental Sport Contact 5P this is available in both sizes, add this to the Bridgestones (a non starter for me run flats are designed by the devil for Uk roads) and that seems to be it!

Best Wishes

Mike

I have the same wheels and tires. Just get the 265/30/19's, they look better and are available.

Thanks very much. Sorry about not finding the post I am obviousley not looking properly!

My stealer told me not to put the larger tyres on the wheels is there any risk in doing that?

I am a complete newbie to this, really want to come off the run flats. Other option is the Conti Sport 5P which is available in the right size, this is their new version and significanlty cheaper than the PSS, are the PSS really that good?

Tires will make the biggest difference in handling vs. any suspension upgrade. The PSS is a jack of all trades. I just had them installed on my car. You will love the difference vs. RFTs (they are garbage).

I run 19" OEM wheels as well and do 265 on the rear, 235 on the front. No problems at all. Adding 10mm to the stock spec will do nothing; BMW dealers just say what they're saying because that is BMW spec. Can't blame them.

As noted 235/265 looks a little better because the tire is now squared off (as an added bonus, that means a little extra protection for the rim as well).
