BMW Insured Warranty... worth renewing?

Hi Chaps

I just bought a 325i as a few of you will know, and since new its been warrantied/serviced/repaired by BMW.

The warranty which was transfered to me, runs out in a few weeks and the quotes have come through for renewal.

What are your experiences with BMW UK and the extended warranties they provide.

As I may have future concern about how much oil my car uses and possibly a noisy AC compressor, these both seem like jobs that might merit the peace of mind offered by a warranty.

Would value your opinions!

yeah thats kinda my thinking. I've had shocking luck with cars lately. my E46 330i suffered head gasket failure, my 530D had various injector and auto box issues and the nissan before that, had a massive oil leak into its timing chain cover and suffered engine seizure on the city bypass.

I'm almost keen to have it, just for peace of mind. I need to have this car for a few years, and i'm keen for it to be with me through this time. Not sure i'd want the expense of an air con failure, or valve/head replacements (as its a bit ticky and i'm keeping my eye/ear on it)

If you can afford it - do it.
Remember, you can pay monthly and cancel it at any time.

I was in the same position as you a few months back. After seeing what a repair bill can be, I went with the warranty.

Like all insurance you have to way up the cost of insurance versus the cost and likelihood of a claim. Personally I believe in minimum insurance and been lucky so far. Very much an individual decision mate.

given my previous luck with cars, i think i'll have the warranty for at least this next year, and see how the car runs. That way i can say for sure that it doesnt have any potentially serious problems around the corner.
