American muscle makes me appreciate the D

So two of my buddies got new cars, one a G8 GT (6.0L) and a mustang (4.6L) << maybe? anyway I rode in both and drove both expecting them to be ridiculously fast (at least the 6.0) and I was surprised .. made the 335d feel like a ROCKET! I know a lot of us including me are saying we want more power other than JBD but damn ... I appreciate my diesel that much more right now ...

I have an STI owner and a super charged v6 pontiac owner both of which had "I just had some fun" grins on their faces when I let them take mine out, while still stock.

I'm tuned on JBD right now, and that's what I mean, it literally embarrasses anything with an engine even twice it's size. Just need that once in awhile to remind myself how quick this car actually is.

also, the best part is the diesel trucks (some pushing close to 1000 ft lbs torque) you have to be careful with what speed you catch them at though, from certain ones you may be eating some blown smoke from them .. they're impressive but I've yet to let one show me the ropes. and
don't plan on it anytime soon, I saw a post on power stroke Ford site, he was lookin for advice on what tune to put on his truck cuz his buddy got a 335d and he basically
says I CANNOT let this bmw embarrass me .. hahah

GreekboyD I read the thread them rednecks(no pun intended just in case!!) conspiring to beat our 35d its so funny but with great humor and sense, loved it. Thats what I call friendly competition, it surprized me that there is a 335d owner on that forum!!

Thx for the link, it was sad but funny at the same time. My older brother has a GMC 2500HD with the 6.6l, Allison trans, and a Bully Dog box kit. His truck is quick and when I had my Jetta TDI he'd talk crap about out-running me up the Grapevine (I-5S just north of the Tejon pass). I told him anytime. Well, I went south from Portland to visit him (SF Bay Area) and took him for a ride in the D. He had me do a 15-75-0 roller on a short strip of road by his house. After I stopped I looked at him and asked, "Still want to race up the Grapevine?". He said, "Fuck no! You'll eat me alive!". Ask him to race a Ford PS and he's game. He thinks they're slow as Hell.

If I see a PS around town I'll try not to tremble too much ........
