Please confirm which Lux version was used in the pics.

Lux 2. Color rating is currently 5000K to match OEM xenons but there will probably be an 8K version available if that's what you guys want

i'm sure it it only the photo, but they have a much warmer tint to them

LUX 2.0 is about 66% LESS bright then LUX 4.0

Also - Where is your product made - USA or elsewhere?

Predator ICE is roughly the same as LUX 4.0 in brightness. We're hoping to get someone to compare them. The difference is that LUX is much more expensive, and from what I've been told, appears to be somewhat lower grade components.

Jlevi,
That was definitely, not a nice thing to say about Marcs LUX, never criticize your competition....demonstrates weakness or fear....

Yikes! I had NO idea that mds was making the LUX products himself. Nonetheless, I've edited my comments and would like to take them back 100%. While I may feel that we're coming out with the best product in the market, I certainly should not have put down the competitor!

I'll ask the moderators to clear any of my comments as I truly feel like a jerk.

The customers will be able to decide for themselves!

Have you seen the actual LUX 4.0's? There a pretty good quality, I can even say that look like they were manufactured by a big company. Don't disrespect other people's products if you have never seen them in person.

I don't know Marc as well as some of the other guys here. All I know is that I have the LUX 4.0 and so far from the first pic you posted, I am glad I went with the 4.0.

Jlevi SW - No worries, ya i have been making the product myself since the beginning. I do definitely agree that it is up to the customers to decide for themselves.

I cant wait to see a comparison picture of LUX4 vs Predator ICE because i feel that would be a meeting of the best products on the market.

ok, that picture does not help at ALL!~ Please take higher rez pics and more of them with varying distances and lighting conditions. It will truly help sell your product..need to put a tad bit more effort in marketing.
I am leaning towards LUX because there are more pics of them lol.

let me ask this again, what's the lumen rating on these? picture comparison, quite frankly, doesn't do jack, when it comes to comparing light output.

So, please answer this, what's the lumen rating?

I will post some more pics a little later.

Also, as for Lumen Rating... You'll need to wait quite some time till we get the production units in.

you can get a lumen rating from... LED Lumen/Watt rating * a % depending of the power they are being driven at. Those specs Have to be available already
Then to be more specific it depends on the efficiency of the thermal maintenance of the LED's. hotter = less efficent

Why do we need to wait. This is something you should already know.

I hate to seem like a jerk but what if MDS didnt make these and it was some company that didnt visit these forums. That would make it ok to bash them?

Also you made your comments having them deleted or edited seems very shady.

Where are the better pics? I'm sure most of your customers should have them installed already. Plus, don't you guys have one installed in your car???

I appreciate the comments – Umnitza saw this thread and wanted to let us know a number of things.

Quote:
1) No disrespect to MSD or MDS – Marc is a good guy and was genuinely interested in the development of the product – so please no disrespect, we’re more inclined to work with marc on this than we are to have him be our competitor.

2) Country of origin doesn’t matter, it’s Taiwan made. The mold was expensive as was the configuration. ISO9001 facility etc. Clearly the pictures of our product show a good quality fit and finish. Our comparison was done with Lux2.0 so it’s not a fair assessment of Lux4.0 as we have not actually seen it.

3) Our color is 5000K at this time to match OE xenons and not be too blue. The next release is 100% confirmed to be more blueish as the feedback is more towards the TRUE PURE WHITE versus the white of 4500K Xenons.

4) In real life, 66%/100% brighter isn’t that significant a difference in the “end output” – MSD may agree or disagree here but when we went from a proprietary 3+ W system in V1 ICE to a 5W system in V2 for Predator ICE the differences were visible to the naked eye easily but not as much on photos. So you can boost output of this a LOT but you can’t really see that noticeable a difference in photos. I’ve seen the photos posted of Lux4.0 and Lux 2.0 and frankly, the difference – if the photos are any indication – are exactly the same as the differences between Version 1 ICE and Version 2 ß definitely there but nothing too dramatic.

5) Pricing is key to us that is why we want to introduce this product at $149 so we have a lot of happy customers and it will allow us to further the development. We are already working on increasing the output but at this point – and Vik may agree on this – the brightness is sufficient, it’s the color that needs changing. So we think we have a good value here with a $149 plug and play product and our complimentary $99 product for the E92 LCI based system.

Again, we wish no ill will – unlike another competitor in the Predator ICE for non-E90/E92 cars who has been a jerk throughout the process, MSD is a friendly competitor and we wish him no ill will.

I think there is room for both of us to help each other improve the product line and help you guys out.

Sincerely,

Matt Grintsaig
Umnitza
I will try to find out lumen ratings for you guys asap.
Thanks
JL
