Considering an E90 For European Delivery

I posted because I searched and didn't find any information.

The 335i sedan is on the top of my short list for sport sedans. I will not be without a car as I will not be trading-in my SRT-4. Its too much fun and soon with make well over 400hp and is lighter than the 335i. The 335i will never be as fast without extensive modifications and that is not the purpose of this purchase.

Having 2 cars is always better than one and the SRT-4 will be mainly a daily driver and track car, while the 335i will be used for weekends, bumping elbows with other Bimmer owners and road trip driving as the SRT-4 lacks cruise control and the seats are a bit hard.

I have already been to Europe and been to Germany (in fact I just returned from a trip 3 weeks ago, 35 days total) so I my questions have nothing to do with European Delivery in general, where to drive, how to drive in Germany, etc, etc.

My question has to do with tuners such as AC Schnitzer, Alpina, Hartage and Hamann.

Would there be any problems if I took my new car over to any of these tuners and then returned it to BMW for shipping back to the States? I really see no problem with this but I wanted to know for sure.

Yes I know CEC is a AC dealer and I can more than likely get the anything else from US distributors but I wanted to enjoy the car in Europe tuned already and I thought it would be fun for it to show up to the dealership completely different than your standard spec 335i... Plus I really don't like any of the optional wheels that are available with the Sport Package.

I'll be looking to order one up maybe in Aug or Sept for Oct pickup and I'm also considering the 1 series coupe but that's not for this forum obviously.

Thanks

To the best of ny knowledge, everything that is not US DOT approved as OEM on the car is taken out and "thrown away". For us, that meant we had to remove even simple items like the Euro warning triangle and Euro First Aid kit as they would not have made the trip. I am almost positive that the same would go for after market items purchased there, but someone else may be able to enlighten us.

Might be easiest and cheapest if you bought the parts there, shipped them back and had them installed after you've taken delivery

I'd contact Irv, who by all accounts knows everything there is to know about ED:
