Washington State / Camping crew: where to camp

I'm considering going on a road trip up the coast and in to Seattle, taking my time and camping probably 2 nights on the way (1 night in 2 different locations).

Between Olympic National Park and Mt. Rainier National park, which would be better for one night of car camping or very short walk-in camping?

Olympic is right off of i5 going into Seattle, but for a driver the scenic and roads are great going to and from Rainier also better to camp IMO.

What map are you looking at? Olympic national park is up west of Port Angeles, off Hwy 101.

If you are heading along I5 north, there are tons of places to camp. I think you'll need a discovery pass (state tax, err use fee) for breathing around any dept of natural resources or other state lands.

Hwy 12 east is scenic.
Hwy 410 east takes you towards mount Rainer and is very scenic.
You could go up the coast line and stay at a ton of different places along the beach.

My bad I mis spoke I was mixed my words with the one off hwy 101 to hwy 8 (Olympic hwy) west of Olympia not Olympic whatever I was thinking haha

Yeah if i do this, i'm kind of planning to take the coast hwy most of the way, and if i do go with Ranier, then 410 sounds like a great way out of Rainier and up to Seattle.

As of right now I'm kinda getting the feeling that Rainier looks like it might be a better choice for camping between the 2. Any thoughts?

Mt Rainier is beautiful, but be sure to reserve a spot online...(sounds weird I know) My wife and I went up there this summer on a whim and every spot at the campground we were hoping to stay at was taken by "online reservations." Strange world we live in...

I recommend Ohanapecosh Campground for Silver Falls Trail.
