Half Engine Light

2010 335i, xdrive with JB4

I was driving along in moderate traffic, 40+mph, when someone ran a stopsign in front of me. I braked hard (but not quite to where ABS would kick in), and avoided the idiot. When I got back on the gas, my half-engine light came on. Since I was in traffic, I could not verify the turbos were off. At the first opportunity, I pulled over, shut off and restarted the engine and everything was fine. No light, no problems.

I did try a few hard stops the next day, but the problem did not repeat. Would any codes show up, or has the JB4 already cleared them?

Any suggestions on what happened? Will it happen again?

Try to read the codes.. Half engine light aka limp mode always disables the turbos.
