So it seems that there is no section specifically for the BC people, I just have to post my OT here...
Is there a legitimate (house) renting website you guys can recommend to me? What are the good/bad areas of BC?

Do NOT...NOT...go anywhere near E Hastings. I wouldn't even stop at a red light if I had to drive through that area. Van is huge...and very expensive - depends on your budget and your desire to be close to work (and your patience in horrible traffic).

My office is based out of downtown Vancouver (on Melville St) so I travel to and from every now and then. The one thing I've seen and steers me away from BC outright is the cost of housing in comparison to where I live now. With that in mind, if you absolutely HAVE to move out west I wish you all the best. But, I strongly suggest to reconsider and think it through (not saying you already have).

LOL hastings wutta guy ur really gunna tell her hastings !! , well u should stay away from chinatown/hasting/ broadway area. Main st to about 30th is like retro/hipster area. If ur gunna move to van some good areas would be killarney area, fraserview, renfrew. If away from let's say coquitlam would be coquitlam east,west.central and westwood plateau burnaby would be like capital hill or parts of south and north burn. If I were u just go on to remax.ca and search for propertys or even ur trustee craigslist and search for some nice condo or renovated suite of some sort.

Forgot to had to find a decent to good place is about 900+ I have a couple family members that just built a house down here if they still have suites avaialble then give me a pm

No no u have ur own kitchen washroom and everything, own basement suite not some one room thing that's be horrible and yea also another thing like another member mentioned the cost of living is a tad higher here compare to tdot. But if u made up your mind welcome to vancity !

If I could not live in Toronto, I would move to Vancouver. I think its the place to be in the East of Canada. Very beautiful area. We could note the expenses of living, but Toronto is not exactly cheap either. If you could afford it here in T.O, you can manage yourself in Vancouver as well.
