2008 335i Pricing?
Any news yet? Has anybody placed an order for a 2008 yet since pricing has not been released? I have talked to dealers who are willing to give me 1500-1800 under MSRP on an order, they just don't know what MSRP will be yet.

Unfortunately, the dollar continues to get weaker against the Euro. Today, it's almost $1.38 per Euro, versus last March when I seem to remember it was around $1.30. That's almost 5% right there, due to just to the exchange rate. Multiply 5% times the cost of the number of BMWs imported into the US and you've got a very large sum of money.

Expecting delivery
I just ordered my 2008 335i today -- leather, auto, nav -- and received nearly 3% off MSRP.
I was told that prices are expected to rise by "a few hundred dollars." Just in case, I had written in the contract that if they raise by more than 1% I can walk. Ordering now pretty much assures delivery by mid- to late October. Plants in Germany are all but shut down through August. And what's this I here about engine differences between the two model years (pertaining to fuel pumps perhaps?). |

I ordered an '08 in July and had them make sure that whatever I pay is what I pay. Whether the car goes up by $200 or $2000, I'm still only paying what I paid. Try to run the same thing if you can.

2008 pricing
I was also able to negotiate a deal similar to " T I H O R ". The price I got is the price I got, regardless of the price increase. It is about $1000 off of 2007price so with the estimated increase of 400-700 dollars, that seems like an alright deal. One dealer tried to do that, "I'll give you how ever much off of the new price but we don't know what the new price will be garbage" but I took my business elsewhere. I mean give me a break, I know these cars are extremely popular and they sell at or near MSRP but they are sitting on at least $3000 in profit.
I ordered an AW 335i, premium, sport, convenience, heated seats, and parking distance control, manual trans OF COURSE. I would like to know more about the rumored engine change. Is there any validity to that? I am also concerned that they may offer different interior color options which would make me mad because I would order something different if it were available. I would like a deeper toned red, more like burgundy marooon if it were avail. |

I've heard about 825W audio as an option
I'm just hoping it makes it to 2008 model http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...highlight=825w |

Agreeing on the price of an '07 above invoice and agreeing to give the dealer the same amount of profit on an '08 is the way to do it. Don't start from MSRP and work down, start from invoice and work up. Agree on how much over invoice you're paying, this defines the dealer profit, then when the new invoice pricing comes out, simply add the increase based on those invoices.
That is the way to do it. For those that negotiate down from MSRP and get a dealer to agree on your price irrespective of increase --- you are likely paying more than you need to. For a dealer to agree to such a price without knowing the invoice increase to '08 --- this tells me that the dealer has a nice cushion in there, and doesn't really care too much whether the increase in '08 pricing is <x> or <y>, because he has made a great deal (for him) regardless of the increase. There are other factors in purchasing a car (does price matter to you?) that I haven't really mentioned here, my advice above certainly isn't the 'only' way to purchase a car. However, for getting the best price and showing the dealer you know what you're talking about, negotiating up from invoice is absolutely the best way to go. There is nothing 'sketchy' and agreeing to an '07 price, and agreeing to add the price increase even though we don't know what it is yet. It's smart. |

its coming with the 245 speaker option...seriously, you can only get so much improvement in a car environment unless you go off the deep end with customization. Its a nice way for bmw to rake in more cash on an option that most will buy into.

What is also new is that ugraded stereo has been taken out of the premier package and is being offered by itself (with USB integration) as part of "premium sound package."

It was offered in late '07s and continues in the '08s. Very sharp. |

new interior colors for 08?
Thanks "Scoop" but I meant a darker red toned interior color. I believe the barbera red is an exterior color. The current red interior offered is a bit too red for me. lol

Spoken like a true saleman "borisivan". But Any deal dependant on an unkown number is risky, period. I feel much more comfortable knowing that regardless of the price increase I know how much I am paying. If I were to agree on a $2000 profit for the dealer working up from invoice as you suggested, yet I do not know how much the new invoice will be then my total cost will be MORE than if I agree to a fixed price of $xxxx regardless of increase. The only constant in your equation is the dealer profit even though the cost to the buyer will be more.

duh, but the dealer doesnt profit anymore regardless of what BMWNA releases as INVOICE prices on 2008's. Of course no one can predict the price, but its not known right now, and if you want to ink a deal, the safest way is what borisvan said. If you agree to $500 over invoice, that wont change because the dealer doesnt manipulate the published Invoice prices.
