Hi there,
I sometimes have the same problem, it started since I removed/put back the rubber boot between the cabin and engine compartment. It sits on the steering column/spindle low down under the the dashboard trim. The rubber is sealed with a ring and sort of a felt joint against the steering column. Unmount the lower dashboard trim and spray a little silicone oil on the joint, and the problem should be gone. Let me know how it worked out. Steve |

Go down with your head under the steering wheel,
look up, you see 4 small torx screws to unmount the lower dashboard, it reaches from under the steering wheel to the pedals. There may be some connectors attached on the backside. Under there is a rubber boot wich seals the steering column and the engine compartment, spray a little silicone oil on top where the steering column goes inside the rubber, there sits the felt joint. |

Same here. Mine only squeaks (very lightly) on left turns. It annoys the hell out of me, but like everyone said, only started since the temps fell for winter. I mostly drive alone, and when I do, I have my sound volume rammed up, so it does not bother me that much, at least knowing that it is some minor issue of the wheel rubbing on the dash or smth.

One thing to check: move the wheel to all possible positions and check for binding. My wheel had a slight occasional squeak but when I put the wheel all the way down and in, it bound up badly 1 revolution into a turn, which is hella dangerous.
There was a seized shaft in the steering components that was replaced under warranty. |
