So the dealer went over my car with a fine tooth comb

They told me everything looks great- from the motor mounts to every other nut, bolt, and torque driver under the hood.
They say they all but eliminated the rattle I was complaining about, but that there is still a bit of a noise.
They told me however it's simply the wastegate and how it acts on the N55, and that they hear it pretty frequently on the 335s.
I mean, they worked really hard on it so I can't really fault them for this, and I haven't picked up the car yet to hear the difference (or lack thereof).
does anyone else have a take on this?

Guess some things on these 335s you just gotta live with huh

Good for you

Mine is going in tomorrow...

- Oil change
- New driver seat belt-butler
- New updated PPK software
- Brakes are getting checked (wet pre-braking doesn't work)

And this after a full check-up a month ago...

But loving the car every day

What do you mean by new updated PPK?? I flashed my car one year ago when the PPK was on sale. Are you meaning they are updating your PPK or you're getting it NEW for the first time?

Thanks.

So you think if I call they offer update free or is this out of pocket?

Thanks for previous reply.

I'm not paying anything

Don't know if they update you without any issues... Don't even know if this "update" is better then the one i have now! New is not always better...

Very true!! Waiting to read more people's opinion on the new Cobb before I take the leap. I like the PPK but would love to have more power in the near future. Just not wanting to piggyback on ECU(JB or procede), not too tech savy in that department. So I'm hoping Cobb will have some nice real life numbers people can share soon with the forum.

Thanks again. Good luck.

Just in case, you know that wet pre-braking is active when wipers are on auto.

Would be interested in your comments after they reflash the PPK to the updated version, as well. Thanks.

I also had the PPK installed last year when on "special" and really haven't experienced any problems...fingers crossed.

I'm just playin bro. But yea, apparently it's 'normal'.

I give up. With any luck my wastegate takes a shit soon and they will replace it (pretty sure that is where it's coming from).

If your car still has the wastegate rattle then your wastegate actuators are most likely bad, not necessarily your wastegates that are built into the turbo.

You have to listen with headphones.
You can hear the leafblower type sound at the peak of every rev.

Sounds possibly like the EPDW valve. Its the electronic solenoid that controls vacuum to the wastegate. Unplug it, see if the noise is still there. Its located on the passenger side of the engine. You will see some vacuum lines connected to it and one electrical connector. Unplug the electrical connector. That is not a normal wastegate sound from what I can hear. But the video isnt that great.

I know, sorry for that. I should mention it ONLY happens when the car is fully warmed up (15-20 minutes of driving). Best heard with headphones. Cold starts are fine. I have a better video, but I'm talking on it and it's rather annoying (was trying to instruct the SA / techs), but I think you'll get a better idea. It ONLY happens during low RPMs (1-2 RPMs).
If you want me to upload it, I'd be happy to.
It drives me nuts, but I am living with it.

EDIT here it is:
This is after 20 minutes of driving.
