wow no dust
I had the Axxis deluxe pads fronts installed 2 days ago and i didn't wash it for two days of about 100 miles or so, and i finally hosed the rims down...The particles of dust as little as it was, didn't stay on the rim at all...Whatever little dust there was with the water pressure of the hose it was clean...I hose the rear down which had the Oem pads still ( still waiting for my rears to come) and it was night and day....Even using the hose, the rims still retained that layer of brake dust like it was painted on...Anyone that likes their car detailed and clean should consider changing out the OEM pads...So what if BMW replaces brakes for free, I rather pay and get brakes without soooo much dust!!!

I bet those brake pads don't stop the car as well as the soft dusty ones that leave your wheels dirty.

Probably not as good as the original but i think it stops just as well, I think the difference would be the wear of the rotors...I think OEm pads also extend the rotors...Bmw doesn't want brakes to wear out the rotors as much so they implement softer pads...They don't want to warranty the rotors so they use softer pads....I spent about 4000 for my rims and if it means a little more wear on my rotors, so be it...but i will be damn to let brake dust bake into the finish of my rims and tarnish it...Thats just my opinion though..Its good enough for the streets....not like i am racing the car on the track!!! but for all of you that think the Axxis pads are impairing the brakes, Have fun cleaning your rims!!!

We carry the Axxis Delux pads on our site.
I run these on my M3s too, and they do dust very little, but at the same time they aren't sacraficing performance. I've had quite a few guys purchase these for me for their double duty cars. Granted, these aren't dedicated track pads. I think that they would resist track conditions fairly well. It is sort of a common place to see someone put on rotor blanks, axxis delux pads, and change their brake fluids when going to track events and such. -Don |

I've never understood why the bmw pads were always so dusty. My E39 is just as bad if not worse. No other car I've ever had or been around ever had this problem. I might have to join you guys in the near version. Rinsing off the wheels every single day gets rather annoying.

I put the centric posi-quiet pads on mine..no dust at all..definitely not the same stopping power as before. Its nice to have clean rims for once though!

Well i used the Axxis front pads and the stopping power feels the same...i am waiting for the rears which are not in stock...I didn't want to mix match the brake pads..The Axxis pads were more expensive compared to the centric posi quiet pads..The Axxis pads were made of a different material than the posi. pads

Hey if you want a super easy way to keep your wheels clean try the "Pro" brand non-acid wheel cleaner. I found it 3 or 4 years ago and nothing takes brake dust off easier and it's gentle as can be. My AMG wheels still look like new. In a pinch you can even just spray it on and immediately hose off your wheels without scrubbing and it does a pretty decent job.
Oh man, I sound like such a shill...oh well...love the stuff. http://www.prowax.com/wheel_tire.shtml

I realize that there are good wheel cleaners out there, but the reason i went with these pads is the fact that i love a clean car but can't stand cleaning the wheels at all...or as much as with the OEM brakes...A small price to pay for a clean car in my mind...I don't use the car for track so i am not worried about the loss of stopping distance compared the the OEMs..My car is imaculate and that works for me...

Well found out that Axxis won't come out with rear pads for another year or so...can't understand that..they make the fronts but not the rears..pretty stupid of you ask me..Well instead of the Axxis rears which hasn't been out yet, i ordered the Posi-quiet pads and installed them...They work just as good as the Axxis and far as the brake dust and stopping is the same i think...Drove around for two days and rims are immaculate...Use a damp towel and wiped it clean...it took 2 minutes to clean the rims even though they didn't even need to be wiped down, but i wanted to see how much dust the rear produced...Before the OEM after 10 miles or so the rims were black and dust all over the place..2 days it would have been filthy and make the car look like shit...Again anyone that doesn't use their car for track and likes a clean car, I suggest you purchase these brakes!!!! Hands down its worth it!!
