e90 Red Brake Light and Red Car of Lift
I have searched the forums and I get mixed answers. Need help.
Red Brake Light and Red Car of Lift need to be reset. My e90 say it is due for front and rear brakes after I reset them, it says _____ under milage. Red Brake light stays on. Pads have 1/2 of their life left at the least. Can I reset this now? It seems that every time I try to reset it, the mileage still says ____Mi . One answer seems to be that I need to replace the sensors and then reset manually? Is this the only way to get both lights off? Please help. (I have searched and get different lights) |

Seems your sensor is faulty

I just got my rear rotors replaced a few weeks ago. Today i started the car and got the same lights and warning as the OP. I thought the sensors only measure the brake pads, not rotors? Should i replace the rear sensors? Or do i need to adjust the parking brake?
Thanks in advance.

they do not measure the rotors
the electrical connection to the sensor may have been disrupted by removing the caliper from the carrier, or it could even be the front brake sensor.. |

So it's probably a bad sensor? If it's anything to do with the brakes CPO won't cover it correct?

Its crazy because i changed both front and rear brake pads along with new sensors and i still get the front brake error. The rear is fine its just the front that is giving me problems. I already tried resetting like a million times

I just read in the manual that the brake light could also mean there's a hydraulic brake fluid leak.

aaaaah, if he changed the pads and pushed the old fluid out the bleed screw, the res could be low. there is a sensor right on the top of the reservoir cap to warn of a low fluid situation, check that and refill if necessary, and then check again every week for a few weeks to see if the level changes.
