SCARY SHIT

Just heard a bit of a commotion outside, so i go out for a nosey an the next door neighbour asks me have a seen a van drive off? so i say no and ask why, and apparently the next door but one has had the door kicked in by 5 men in balaclarvas armed with masschettes and knicked both cars off her driveway...... her husband is away on business and she was alone.

i cant begin to think what my misses would have done if i was away and she was in the house with my lad alone.

i hate the theiving violent wankers.........we need a gun.

Must have been scoping her house... its shocking nowadays with the new technology in immobilisers that people just raid houses for cars! More reason for a garage and some decent house security. Better to give up the cars than your life... hopefully they will be found in good condition, though nothing repairs the trauma of a home invasion.

Not good ..

What cars did they have ... ?

It's sad but true that certains types of vehicle attract this sort of thing ... scoobies and evo's especially.

Steve,

Thats awful, really scary.

Naturally the action is to give up the key and hide, seeing that the car(s) are all that they want, but things can go wrong.

This form of crime is normal today, the reason for it is probably in your pocket right now, the coded key. The cars that can make a thief quick money, that are easy to steal due to their simple ignition, have have aged away. The only way to steal a 50 grand car nowadays is to have the key.

The pro cons probably realised this many years ago and moved on to other crime, but as they left a younger and more aggressive team moved in.

The car manufacturers need to react quickly and design a system that makes the machine useless after 24 hours.

I suggest a great big 10MW AM transmitter that blasts out the IDs of stolen cars, the ECU would have an aerial embedded in it's PBC/CPU that trashes the entire system when it's told to, assuming it's not movng.

Sorry to hear that. Hope everyone is ok.

This country is going downhill, fast.

No wonder people are leaving in record numbers (200,000 last year i think)

Absolutely shocking and a sad indictment on our current society, where the punishment fails to fit the crime. I hope everyone involved is safe and well and I trust that they will catch these buggers. What sort of motors were they Steve?

Ah, but lets not forget that these people were more than likely disadvantaged as children and we should really be more understanding of their needs as human beings (tongue firmly in cheek).

And then they just replace the ECU ?

Very scary stuff. Poor women will be emotionally scarred for a while, something these total ar*eholes don't think about.

Similar thing happened to a bloke on tyresmoke forums, had their R32 and Mini Cooper drop top taken.

Sad sign of the times when people can't enjoy their hard earned money on a nice car because of the threat of a violent robbery.

The North pole should be converted to a new prison state imo!!

I think this probably sums it up:

MOST OF THE WORLD VERSION:

The squirrel works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building and improving his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks he's a fool, and laughs and dances and plays the summer away. Come winter, the squirrel is warm and well fed. The shivering grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.

THE END

THE BRITISH VERSION:

The squirrel works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks he's a fool, and laughs and dances and plays the summer away. Come winter, the squirrel is warm and well fed.

A social worker finds the shivering grasshopper, calls a press conference and demands to know why the squirrel should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others less fortunate, like the grasshopper, are cold and starving. The BBC shows up to provide live coverage of the shivering grasshopper; with cuts to a video of the squirrel in his comfortable warm home with a table laden with food.

The British press inform people that they should be ashamed that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so while others have plenty. The Labour Party, Greenpeace, Animal Rights and The Grasshopper Council of GB demonstrate in front of the squirrel's house. The BBC, interrupting a cultural festival special from Notting Hill with breaking news, broadcasts a multi cultural choir singing "We Shall Overcome". Ken Livingstone rants in an interview with Trevor McDonald that the squirrel has gotten rich off the backs of grasshoppers, and calls for an immediate tax hike on the squirrel to make him pay his "fair share" and increases the charge for squirrels to enter inner London .

In response to pressure from the media, the Government drafts the Economic Equity and Grasshopper Anti Discrimination Act, retroactive to the beginning of the summer. The squirrel's taxes are reassessed. He is taken to court and fined for failing to hire grasshoppers as builders for the work he was doing on his home and an additional fine for contempt when he told the court the grasshopper did not want to work.

The grasshopper is provided with a council house, financial aid to furnish it and an account with a local taxi firm to ensure he can be socially mobile. The squirrels food is seized and re distributed to the more needy members of society, in this case the grasshopper.

Without enough money to buy more food, to pay the fine and his newly imposed retroactive taxes, the squirrel has to downsize and start building a new home. The local authority takes over his old home and utilises it as a temporary home for asylum seeking cats who had hijacked a plane to get to Britain as they had to share their country of origin with mice. On arrival the tried to blow up the airport because of Britain's apparent love of dogs. The cats had been arrested for the international offence of hijacking and attempt bombing but were immediately released because the police fed them pilchards instead of salmon whilst in custody. Initial moves to then return them to their own country were abandoned because it was feared they would face death by the mice. The cats devise and start a scam to obtain money from peoples credit cards.

A Panorama special shows the grasshopper finishing up the last of the squirrel's food, though Spring is still months away, while the council house he is in, crumbles around him because he hasn't bothered to maintain the house. He is shown to be taking drugs.

Inadequate government funding is blamed for the grasshoppers drug illness'. The cats seek recompense in the British courts for their treatment since arrival in UK .

The grasshopper gets arrested for stabbing an old dog during a burglary to get money for his drugs habit. He is imprisoned but released immediately because he has been in custody for a few weeks. He is placed in the care of the probation service to monitor and supervise him. Within a few weeks he has killed a goat in a botched robbery. A commission of enquiry, that will eventually cost £10,000,000 and state the obvious, is set up.

Additional money is put into funding a drug rehabilitation scheme for grasshoppers and legal aid for lawyers representing asylum seekers is increased. The asylum seeking cats are praised by the government for enriching Britain's multicultural diversity and dogs are criticised by the government for failing to befriend the cats. The grasshopper dies of a drug overdose. The usual sections of the press blame it on the obvious failure of government to address the root causes of despair arising from social inequity and his traumatic experience of prison. They call for the resignation of a minister.

The cats are paid a million pounds each because their rights were infringed when the government failed to inform them there were mice in the United Kingdom .

The squirrel, the dogs and the victims of the hijacking, the bombing, the burglaries and robberies have to pay an additional percentage on their credit cards to cover losses, their taxes are increased to pay for law and order and they are told that they will have to work beyond 65 because of a shortfall in government funds.

THE END?

Wow! Things are getting as bad as South Africa! I left there 8 years ago hoping to leave this kind of violence behind. Owning guns ( Glock 19 9mm and Colt 45 ) saved my bacon a few times, the last one being in 1999 just before I returned to the UK.

I got home from work early and a few minutes later heard a noise outside at the back and as I went past the dining room window, I was struck by fragments of brick from the wall to my left. A not-so-friendly chap had taken a shot at me after smashing the window. Thankfully, he missed. I dropped to the floor and crawled to where my firearm was and returned fire – just aimed at a tree outside and shot at that since I wasn’t going to get up and present myself as a target while looking for the thief! I used my mobile to call the Police and about an hour later they arrived. The thief had, meantime, decided it was too much trouble engaging in a gun fight to kill me and left.

Life can be so cheap to criminals. I knew a guy who refused to own a gun and he was shot by someone who wanted nothing more than to steal some cigarettes off him while he was at a petrol station. Fortunately he lived. He wasn’t given the choice of simply handing over what the thief wanted.

When I arrived in the UK I found myself feeling uncomfortable not having my Glock on my person at all times but I soon realized how nice it was not to have to feel the need to own it because I was in a relatively safe environment. Sadly, I have noticed that there appears to be more and more violent crime being committed and eventually it’ll feel frustrating not being able to protect myself and my family adequately from the scum who prey upon law-abiding citizens. Avoiding confrontation is paramount in violent situations but if criminals begin to feel brazen enough to take a life or seriously maim, then I would like a last resort option available to me. This won’t happen here, of course, so we can only hope the Police get on top of this.

Guy I used to know (he's sadly passed away now) had a similar thing happen in the west midlands. He used to have a Mitsubishi Evo & one evening someone kicked in the front door of his house (where his elderly mother lived with him) & demanded the Evo keys which he handed over.

The car was on the drive with a "pop up" steel post behind it. As he didn't give them the keys to drop the post they rammed it with the stolen fiesta they had turned up in, when that didn't work the backed the Evo into it & when that failed they fucked off!!

By the way Steve we don't call it "Gunchester" for nothing & despite scouse land being crime central Manchester has one of the highest car crime rates in the UK, thats why insurance is dear!
