New September engine specs? Have heard no news but...
They have kept quiet about this!
I was looking at a 325I coupe a couple of months ago and the engine specs were then 203-8 ish co2 g/km production, 0-62 in 6.9 secs and a 2500cc engine with an urban MPG of 23.3. I bought car mag 'what car' this month, took a look at the specs and thought they had made a print error but the BMW UK webpage confirms it has changed for september! Now a 325I has a 3000cc engine (on insurance database but the webpage cant make up its mind as it lists both 2500 and 3000cc), 170 co2 g/KM production, tax band E now, previously F, 0-60 time of 6.6 secs and an urban MPG of 28.8. Better? yes, but there is also a price hike of a couple hundred quid. I have done a search on this forum but no-one seems to have mentioned it, and I am very surprised BMW have kept quiet about it! http://www.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/pricesand...-bmwuk,00.html |

Mike, it has been discussed a lot on here lately. Most of the engine have gone over to the Efficient Dynamic engines, co2/gm down and economy up in just about all engines. This applies to all cars build from week 36 (w/c 3 Sep).

The e93 325 already has the direct injection 3.0 litre unit fitted so it sounds as though they might be rolling this engine out across the rest of the 3 series range.

efficient dynamics, thks
Well I think I'm definately going to order a 325I now as the engine compares favourably to my e46 2.0 litre one in every respect! Pretty amazed what a bit of technology can do! |

I know! My 325i (E92 coupe) does 0-60 in 6.9 secs and has a combined mpg of 33.
The new technology give a 0-60 time of 6.6 secs and combined mpg of 39.8 I remember reading on one of the other BMW forums a while back, that the 'smaller' 6 cylinder petrol engines are a lot smoother (sounding and with power delivery) than the bigger units. I would definitely recommend the 325i ![]()
