Underseat or Boot Subs ?
Hi everyone,
I'm deciding on what route to go down in upgrading the base system in my 2006 saloon. I wanted to get opinions on whether its best to go for quality components and 8" subs upfront or quality components and a custom sub box in the boot with a quality 10 or 12 inch sub? I listen to all types of music and do like a bit of bass in my music but not to the point of drowning out everything else. What kind of impact do you get from the underseat subs against a sub buried in the boot. Any advice appreciated Gaz |

I have one 12" in my trunk at the moment, and that alone already gives me the ability to be heard from a block away with my windows up. The underseat subs probably would be a good upgrade eventually, but it honestly seems like in a lot of cases it's cheaper to get a used 10" or 12" and amp and tap it in to your current wires.

Depends on your priorities. If you like bassy sound, and don't mind sub sound overtaking other drivers, get the rear sub.
However if you prefer balanced sound, then you'd require all of it updated. I'd say start with sub in the boot and take it from there.
