HELP: N55 exhaust fit on N54???

Considering purchase of a magnaflow exhaust part # 15529, made for 2011 cars but mine is an 07. Anyone have experience fitting this exhaust?

Did a search and some members say n55 exhaust's fit and vice versa but emailed magnaflow and they said it wouldn't as piping is routed differently.

Any help is appreciated.

had the exact situation because I had a N55 exhaust I purchased, when I switched cars to a N54, i had custom welding and adjustments in piping and bam! piping is much different, if your buying brand new, i suggest looking for something that fits N54.

Hmm, you had the magnaflow or another manufacturer? Very strange how some people say it fits and others are saying it needs adjustments.

Just AE, the piping was different and wouldn't just fit without welding and adding an additional pipe because of the N55 and N54 difference. Not the best guy for knowledge but what they told me was the N55 exhaust had a straight pipe into the turbo and the N54 required 2 straight pipes. so they needed to weld an additional pipe to it.

Right, sounds like he is talking about the downpipes.

When I emailed magnaflow, they said there are differences in piping and it wouldn't work. Maybe just the guy emailing me was giving me the safe answer just based on what magnaflow says the exhaust fits on, but then the question arises why do they have a full different system for 2011's.

Guess im going to have to pass on the deal since theres no concrete proof to convince me to drop hundreds on the exhaust.

Idk but I feel like it would be able to fit since there are some guys who just swap to N55 exhausts on N54s or vice versa but don't take my word on it. If you wind up going to ACI they can fab exhausts to fit. Idk if you know Steve in Stamford with the black 335xi but ACI fabricated a Vanguard he had to clear the transfercase and fit his awd car

Looks to me like the only difference is the 07 cars bolts up to the downpipes whereas the 2011 version you cut after downpipes and clamp on. If that's the case I think it will fit

You might be right, it does look that way.

Found this image... Call me crazy but this is a britalman and looks like a magnaflow copy of the exhaust for n55s and its on a pre lci. Leads me to believe it works. Pipping and bends all look very similar to the first diagram I posted.
