It's probably in keeping a good price seperator between the 335 and the M3. At that price, there shouldn't be any sharp decline in current second hand M3 prices and it won't impact on used 335 prices (if you can find one!!!)

I think if they put the M3 at $167,000 + on roads they'd still have the same waiting list ... I think at those sort of prices an extra $10,000 wouldn't hurt anyone!!

i think it's a bit much honestly...
when i look for a new car, i don't think i will be looking at a new bmw, price being the primary reason... i could have something that in my eyes, for the same money, is better

South Sydney Porsche will sell you a new manual 911 (997) for $200K drive-away.
By the time you buy the M3, add the required options and on-road costs the price must be approaching the mid 170K mark. I'd go the Porsche. Cheers. |

The US is the cheapest car market in the world, count yourself lucky...I am going to be moving to Singapore next year...even more expensive. Can't wait to get back to the US...probably Porsche time! Don't complain about tax until you try another country. |

I think the price is in line with the other 3 series price increases:
330 used to be priced ~98K - 335 is now 108 (~11% increase) M3 used to be ~140K - new M3 now 157 (~12 increase) inflation |
