Comfort access covered by CPO warranty?
titles says all,
my driver side door won't unlock with my key fob in the hand nor locked. I am going to the dealership following tuesday for another issue, but I want to see what others went through before I hold SA's pant. |

What about passenger side? Did you try swapping the battery yet?

I have a Canadian CPO and was told that my intermittently not working comfort access would be inspected for a diagnostic fee that is a flat $144 and is not covered by the CPO if everything is found to be within spec. It was "within spec" and it still intermittently fails and my wallet is $144 lighter. The BMW Canada CPO is very unsatisfactory - it covers no leaking gaskets or seals and if something is failing intermittently (but not when it is brought in to the dealer service), Canadians are stuck with a "diagnostic fee".
I can't understand how a leaking seal or gasket is considered a "wear item" - essentially that is how the Canadian CPO treats them. |

^^ yeah, that's horrible.
Down here in North America, I had my oil filter housing, oil thermostat, and oil pan gaskets all replace under CPO. I even had all my turbo oil line seals, which is not covered under CPO, replaced upon approval through BMW NA. All these items would have easily exceeded $4,000+. The good part about this is if your a DIYer, you could accomplish all these fixes for under $100 total in parts with a lot of man hours. |
