2007 E92 335i HPFP/rattle precautions?
Thank you for taking a look at this request and please forgive me for my inexperience.
I have recently purchased a 2007 335i and have become increasingly alarmed the more I read into this HFPF and wastegate rattle issues. Currently she has done 46k and I can't say I've noticed any rattling or anything of that nature as of yet, would you think this is deffo something that's going to happen to me in the near future? I am contemplating taking a warranty from one of these websites to perhaps save me a hefty bill later down the line, however I cannot justify parting with so much money incase my car will most likely be OK. Thanks again for your help and advice |

Only a BMW warranty is worth the paper it's written on...

OP i worry about the same thing. I am choosing not to take the extended warranty. I am hoping that this wastegate talk is just overhyped forum talk...

Thank you all for your replies I would deffo agree with the BMW warranty thing but unfortunately this would be my only option. The £1600 was that including labour? that sounds really good if that's all I'll have to fork out then I'm happy to run that risk. thanks again

£1100 for the turbo rebuild and ~£500 for the labour. Diddn't include gaskets, oil and pipes etc which were about £100 extra. Obviously it depends where you take the car and where you send the turbos for rebuild. If you went to BMW and asked them to replace for new it would be considerably more than the price I paid.

Hpfp isn't a big deal and quite rare now...
WG rattle isn't the worry. It's when they get really worn and need replacement. If you plan to modify the car with bolt ons don't get a warranty - they won't honour it.

Thank you all for your re-assurances. I've already started on the modifying so that's out the window! I think i'll just cross that bridge when it comes, in the meantime enjoy driving this beaut of a car.
