Meth evaporates?

Hey guys

I have the Vishnu pwm trunk mount meth system and I have a faulty fav so I've not been running my meth map. I have a 2.5 gal tank which was about half full and now it's empty. Does the Meth evaporate that fast. It's been maybe 2 months

Meth does evaporate as to how fast numerous variables to be taken into consideration.

That depends how well the tank was ventilated and the concentration in the tank. It's certainly possible, but always worth checking for leaks!

Evaporating 2.5 gallons of meth in 2 months would be a little hard to believe, it sounds like a leak. What was the meth concentration?

Methanol has the fastest evaporation rate of any of the alcohols. If you are running 100% meth and the trunk was warm I can see a little over a gallon evaporating in that time frame.... Best to check for a leak though

If you left the meth pump active, then very possible it sprayed past a bad FAV. If you don't intent to use meth, remove the harness fuse.

Correct me if I'm wrong but on a tightly sealed tank there should not be that much evaporation. The tank doesn't sweat, so the vapors are not escaping!? the meth will condense on the inside of the tank and drip back into the bowl! It'll be like a mini water cycle.

A gallon seems little much for a sealed container...but thats only if you ask me

Garage List
The amount of evaporation will be directly proportional to the amount of ventilation. Methanol has a low boiling temperature which means it will vaporize rapidly especially in warm temperatures until it reaches equilibrium with the air around it. Once saturated the evaporation will stop until fresh unsaturated air flows into the tank and then further evaporation takes place. If the ventilation is limited, then so will the evaporation.

Kinda thought it wouldn't evaporate that fast especially since I only had it mixed at 50/50. I've checked for leaks. Didn't find nothing

IMO, you have a leak or maybe you're leaking past your FAV. I run 50/50 in a 2.2 gal trunk mount tank and it doesn't go down at all unless I use it. My car sat for a month and there wasn't a noticeable decrease in level that I could tell.

In the 3000 i have the tank bolted to my battery box in the trunk. Having a black on black hatchback isn't the most ideal place for meth. 1 week is all it takes for 50/50 to evaporate. I've thought about having a sealed cap and a check valve with a relief valve.
