having trouble selling my 350z....335 coming in 2 weeks (on courage)

This sucks, I've had the 350z up for sale for 3 weeks now and have had to lower the price by $2500 from 18500 to 16000. I still owe 9k on the car and wanted to have around 10k to put down on the 335, but looks like I am gonna only put down 7 if i can get someone to buy it for 16k in the next week or 2.......i just sent away for the loan from kaiser federal too....

Did you think about trading it in? I traded in my 2005 350Z touring and got $20k for it.

It's a tough car to sell. The dealer sat on it for 2 months and then wholesaled it to another dealership. Now I'm watching that dealership trying to sell it.

Is there a Car Cash type service where you live? I have a friend that just got sold his Acura to them and was pretty happy with what they gave him.

I had a hard time selling my S2000. BMW offered me $21k as a trade in. I ended up selling it for $25.5, owed $26.5. Cant hurt asking the dealership what the trade in value is. At least you know thats probably the least you're going to get.

Took me a good 2 months or so to sell it.

Try posting on a popular classified site in your area. We use Craigslist here. Don't know if you guys use it.

I was prepared to accept what the dealership was offering for my S2000, but while I was waiting for my 335i to come in a friend asked me if he could buy it. I ended up selling it to him instead for a little bit more than what I was offered on the trade (but still cheaper than what he would have had to pay if he bought it from the dealership).

I hate dealing with the hassle of selling cars, so I usually just set a non-negotiable price that's under the blue book value so it moves quickly, or just end up trading the car in. This is yet another reason why I've converted to leasing.

You should really try carmax. I know a few people that have had success with it. You'll probably get less than privately selling it, but almost always you'll get a better price than trading it in. See if there is one near you and get appraised.

I also did carmax for my '04 530i (car was perfect with about 24k miles on it) after ebay, autotrader, craigstlist, and the e60forums failed. Should have done carmax in the first place, was very, very simple AND they gave me more than anyone offered.
