Opinion and thoughts ??

Hi everyone,

As the title says opinion and thoughts... I wanted to see what everyone thinks about a range rover ? I'm Interested in buying a 2006 Range Rover supercharged with 60,000 miles for 25k. Has anyone here on forums owned one of these before if so any comments? I feel I'm getting a pretty good deal for what it is.. Not to mention it has chrome 22 inch rims and has the original 20 inch rims that come with it. Also a complete strut package grill set.

Also my next question is..
My dad is going to buy a new car for commuting to work. He is interested in one of the two:
2014 Chevy impala ss
2014 Chrysler 300 SRT

Which one would you guys buy ?

He recently was in Florida and had to rent a car for work and they gave him a Chrysler 300 C Which he really enjoyed so now that is in the picture except SRT version he would get.... 470 horses isn't too bad.

Thanks in advance!
John

Love the look of the SRT8, 2014 is suppose to have the 8speed auto which is a major plus as the 5speed was dating quite a bit.

range rover looks like a winner, plus you'll get some variety in your garage over an x5

chrysler looks good also, but depreciation's gonna suck if he doesn't keep it for a while. i'd probably look into a used m5.

What would you say is my resale value at the range rover in 2 years say at around 120,000 thousand miles ... Also yeah he doesn't mind about the resale on it... And he can't have a real luxury car like BMW or M5 for that matter only cause it doesn't look good when gets his clients in a nice car like that so he always had American cars for his commuting and work purposes... In his garage is a different story

don't know, but at 25k you'll be way ahead anyway.

i've had my m3 for 12 yrs now... got it for around 40k (had only been driven for about a year), 6 years ago it was probably worth 10k now it's about 5-6k. put a lot of miles on it early on, now it's pretty much a placeholder for the garage so i can cruise in the lexus ("my other car is an m3"). definitely did not think i'd keep it more than 5 yrs, this car saves me money!

The new STRs do look nice, and as for the Range Rover, why?

Range Rover out of warranty can get really expensive, really quickly. I would be very careful.

Yeah my parents used to have an 07 and they had a few problems although this one had a new transmission put in at 40,000 miles just out of warranty and the owner(only 1 owner) had to go for 6 grand in this range for a new transmission,so I hope there won't be any trany issues with this car. It is in excellent condition not a scratch on it and clean carfax

I would avoid if I was you. Try and find a newer model, with lower miles.
