E92 frequent adding on oil every 3k.. IS THIS NORMAL?!?!

Hi guys i have a question to ask... i noticed that my 07 bmw 335i coupe consumed oil like every 2-3K miles. I add about 2 quarts everytime.. is this normal? I read about other thread and they mentioned that this is normal because of the turbo?? When i add on the oil typically i use castro 5 30. Please any advice will help.

Thanks!

no not really that seems excessive, i have an 07 with higher mileage and i probably add 2 quarts in between oil changes which i try to do every 7-8k miles. So 1 quart per 3-4k miles is pretty much what i do and thats also because i have some blown turbo seals which make the oil leak and burn a little so you might want to have it looked into to be on the safe side.

not sure about oil ive always used the oil from the dealership but i do know that if you use other brands it has to be a specific european synthetic formula and the weight should be 0w30 or 0w40 something like that i guess thats depending on mileage too, you might just be using the wrong oil

So it is normal to add a quart every 3-4k miles? That makes sense as we up the boost, I just didn't know I would burn oil this bad, to a point where there's burnt oil sitting in my exhaust tip

You might have the infamous leaky oil filter housing gasket issue...I sure did, and got the low oil light every month for a few months until I did the repair.
